Each attendee’s information is encrypted
in a barcode on their name badge. When
an attendee visits an exhibit booth, the exhibitor uses a small hand-held scanner
to capture the attendee’s information electronically. The badge scanners are
battery-based hand-held devices and do not require electrical power.
At the conclusion of a conference, all scanned attendee data is immediately accessible
via an internet website and/or emailed as an Excel spreadsheet. Information collected
can include attendee name, title, company name, mailing address, phone number
and email address.
