Audio-Visual Technician, Inventory Lead
The Audio-Visual Technician, Inventory Lead provides accurate and timely Audio/Visual and vMix equipment setup, operation, and breakdown for in-person (live) and virtual (recorded or streamed) event productions while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. The position also leads responsibilities related to company-owned or rented A/V equipment.
This is a full-time, hourly position. The primary work locations are a warehouse environment located in Burnsville, MN and event sites, both locally and out of town.
Position Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Work collaboratively with all service teams within metroConnections.
- Participate in all aspects of metroConnections where appropriate/when assigned.
- Work in the warehouse, virtual studio, and on-site at events, both locally and out of town, as scheduled by the Senior Director, Operations.
- Lead responsibilities related to company-owned or rented A/V and vMix equipment; including but not limited to maintaining and updating equipment, quality control upon check-out and check-in, picking up and returning rented equipment.
- Support or Lead the In-Studio or On-Site Setups and Teardowns of A/V and vMix equipment based on event needs/specifications. In-Studio responsibilities take place in Burnsville, MN. On-site responsibilities are held within the Twin Cities metro area and throughout the country; air travel is required.
- Run A/V and vMix equipment with direction from the show caller during in-person (live) and virtual (recorded or streamed) event productions and during rehearsals.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve equipment and software challenges in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide excellent service and maintain a positive relationship with all coworkers and clients through effective communication.
- Serve in additional on-site positions during events, as scheduled by the Senior Director, Operations and directed by the on-site program lead.
Minimum Qualifications include:
- 2+ years of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
- 2+ years of audio/visual experience is preferred.
- 2+ years of broadcast/streaming experience is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Exhibit strong technical skills.
- Ability to learn and teach new techniques in a collaborative environment.
- Excel in verbal communication (English is the primary language).
- Ability to take direction and work independently.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail.
- Multi-task efficiently while maintaining big-picture thinking.
- Manage stress successfully: adapt to change, trouble-shoot, and make decisions while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Maintain a cheerful and positive attitude.
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift 100 lbs.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Willingness to work evening and weekend hours.
- Willingness to travel for multiple days at a time.
Requirements:
DOT Certification (arranged for and paid by metroConnections). A DOT physical will be required.
